Two patterns for two very different signs
A tavern sign needs to be memorable from across a street, which is why the format leans on a vivid adjective and an animal or object — Roaring, Gilded, Howling paired with Griffin, Tankard, Hound. A shop sign works differently: it usually names the owner first and the trade second, the way real historical storefronts did, which is why the shop variant pairs a possessive name with a craft like Armory or Apothecary instead.
Once the sign is picked, the town around it probably needs a name too — try city names or give the shopkeeper a full name with human names and last names.

- Yes — the generator already includes "The" and an adjective-noun pair, so appending "Inn" or "Tavern" at the end works fine if you want the extra word.
- Do the shop names fit a specific trade, or are they generic?
- The trade word (Armory, Apothecary, Bakery, and so on) is picked independently from the owner's name, so results cover a range of trades rather than one specific type of shop.
